The Challenge: Encourage Cancer Center supporters to open their wallets by illustrating what the center accomplishes and who they can help, presenting both the human and the scientific side of the center's valuable work.
The Solution: UAB Comprehensive Cancer Center magazine covers those sides and more—profiles of patients, physicians, and researchers; success stories and plans for the future; fun and important news. As project manager, I was in charge of bringing all of that to life in print. I organized production of the issue, edited articles, wrote articles of my own, supervised photo shoots, communicated with sometimes finnicky doctors, and did everything I could to help the world appreciate the UAB CCC as much as I did.
