It is clever, and it gets all the information out there in a consumable way a lot of outdoor advertisers don\u2019t manage. The most significant part of the ad? The word \u201cdiapers.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The conventional wisdom in the industry would be to think, \u201cAdult people aren\u2019t going to want to talk about \u2018diapers,\u2019 because it\u2019s a baby thing, so we\u2019re going to call them \u2018briefs.\u2019\u201d Trust the Diaper King \u2014 and his openness to listen to the people he serves \u2014 to set us straight. Because his customers don\u2019t want to talk about \u201cbriefs.\u201d \u201cBriefs\u201d reinforces a stigma. \u201cBriefs\u201d says, \u201cIncontinence is so shameful and unmentionable, we\u2019re going to talk around it and use euphemisms to be all delicate-like.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>But the Adam Greenberg\u2019s customers didn\u2019t want to be treated like delicate little daisies, and they knew the difference between briefs and diapers and what they were putting on their butts every day, and the respectful thing \u2014 the thing that would combat the stigma and return to them a degree of dignity \u2014 would be to just come out and say, \u201cdiaper.\u201d As one customer said, \u201cDoctor told me to stop calling them diapers. I said Dude, I\u2019m the one wearing them. You\u2019re the one being the baby, not me.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There are ads I Wish I\u2019d Made because the creative is so striking and conceptual and moving, and ads I Wish I\u2019d Made because they looked like they were just plain fun to work on. And there are ads I Wish I\u2019d Made because they really meant a lot, on a personal level, to the people they\u2019re trying to reach.
