I mean, I kind of hate them, because I\u2019m a copywriter and they don\u2019t have copy on them and that means these great ads are happening and I don\u2019t get to play. But as a person who appreciates cleverness and creativity, I have to also respect where I\u2019m not needed. And that\u2019s one reason my \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/capertongillett.com\/blog\/2019\/12\/09\/ads-i-wish-id-made\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Ads I Wish I\u2019d Made<\/a>\u201d collection is chock full of ads I could <em>never<\/em> have made \u2014 because some of y\u2019all are just that talented and creative. (And because I\u2019m mind-blind. But mostly the creativity.)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If commentary seems pretty light on this one, it\u2019s because what\u2019s there to say? It\u2019s right there. The reason they\u2019re great is that they say everything without needing any words. So take this opportunity to sit back and enjoy the pretty (smart, compelling, creative) pictures.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">FedEx (DDB Brazil)<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>This campaign promoting FedEx\u2019s international delivery won a Cannes Lion in 2010 for DDB Brazil. Also, I just found out Lego has its own in-house creative agency, and while I love my current gig, they should be aware that I\u2019d defect in TWO SECONDS should the opportunity arise.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-large is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"724\" src=\"https:\/\/capertongillett.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/11\/lego-ad-1024x724.jpg\" alt=\"A 2014 Lego ad by agency Jung von Matt. Why did I finally land on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.adsoftheworld.com\/campaigns\/hedgehog-and-fish\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">this 2012 one specifically<\/a>?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I mean, lookit. Him\u2019s just a li\u2019l spiny baby.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-large is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"689\" src=\"https:\/\/capertongillett.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/11\/vw-parking-ad-1024x689.jpg\" alt=\"A 2012 Volkswagen ad by agency DDB Tribal Berlin, advertising the car company\u2019s Parking Assist. Cheese and see some excellent ROI, but if you\u2019re going to go with print, you have to love <a href=\"https:\/\/www.adsoftheworld.com\/campaigns\/cheaper-5af07c84-caad-470c-888a-fb07cbe2570d\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">this 2009 one<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-large is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"724\" height=\"1024\" src=\"https:\/\/capertongillett.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/11\/durex-ad-724x1024.jpg\" alt=\"A 2009 Durex ad by agency Espirala DP.
