(<em>Real<\/em> outdoorsy people, not the Guy Who\u2019s Been Camping Three Times And Wants To Tell You How Awesome He Is While Leaving Jelly Packets In The Fire Pit But Not Burning Them. That guy\u2019s just a dick.) They tend to be hard to ruffle and easy to get along with, and they generally have good stories and good\u2026 snacks.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>(A note about the Guy mentioned above, though: If he hadn\u2019t left those jelly packets there, I might not have gotten to see black bears on the Appalachian Trail, so it\u2019s not like he was totally worthless.)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>With all that in mind, it\u2019s only to be expected that some of the government\u2019s funnest social media accounts would be personned by some of its outdoorsiest people. And that\u2019s why those outdoorsy people get their own special follow-up to our previous post about <a href=\"https:\/\/capertongillett.com\/blog\/2023\/01\/06\/5-government-social-media-teams-that-are-having-way-too-much-fun\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">government social media teams having, realistically, exactly as much fun as they should be having<\/a>.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/NatlParkService\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">National Park Service<\/a><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The National Park Service is one of the most consistently funny Twitter accounts the government has to offer, and informative to boot. You get historical tales, nature photos, and <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/NatlParkService\/status\/1630653487825526786\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">very important lessons about friendship<\/a>. For instance, taunting volcanoes \u2014 <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/waDNR\/status\/1650921692494192640\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">don\u2019t do it<\/a>. And why not? Because it\u2019s tacky. Glaciers? Oh, and apparently if the account\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/OKWildlifeDept\/status\/1645440372934320130\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">currently pinned tweet<\/a> gets a million likes, someone\u2019s boss is going to have to name her baby \u201cArmadillo,\u201d so CGC Blog Readers, do y\u2019all\u2019s thing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/GeorgiaWild\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Georgia Department of Natural Resources Wildlife Resources Division<\/a><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>A note on the above story wherein I got to observe black bears on the Appalachian Trail thanks to Jelly Packet Asshat: When I observed them, they and we were on opposite sides of the chainlink fence surrounding the nice little shelters available at points along the AT.
